This sale is formyVintage Waterman 52 in Red Ripple Hard Rubber.
This Waterman fountain pen is in excellent condition, and dates back to the late 1920s. The body of the pen has hardly faded at all over time, has retained its original colour extremely well, and also features a gold plated lever box. The barrel is very lightly engraved with the original manufacturer\'s imprints, and reads: \"Waterman\'s Made In Canada Fountain Pen\". The end is crisply marked \'52\', indicating the model number too.
I have fully restored the pen, fitted it with a new ink sac, and it works perfectly.
This pen features a nice 14ct gold flex nib,and is capable of producing really broad lines when some pressure is applied on the downstroke. It is a very smooth writer, and has plenty of tipping material (iridium) on the end. It can also easily be used like a regular pen when the nib is not flexed.
The nib is engraved:WATERMAN\'SIDEALCANADA2
The nib on this particular 52 is also marked on the side, and is hallmarked \'F.D.W. 14-585\'. The F.D.W. stands for Frank D. Waterman, who was the nephew of the company\'s founder, and was mainly responsible for exporting the company\'s pens. The 14-585 resembles the 14ct gold, with a fineness of 585.
The pen is free from any personalised engravings, deep scratches, chips, cracks, teeth marks or other damage. A little bit of the gold plating on the lever of the pen has worn off (pictured), and the end of the barrel has a few very light marks, most likely as a result of the cap being posted on the end in the past.

The writing sample was produced using the pen filled with Iroshizuku \'Fuyu-gaki\' ink on a Rhodia pad. Please note that there may be slight traces of inkseenin the pictures ofthe pen - I will thoroughly clean it before posting it.
