Beautiful, rare and ornate sterling silver compact or dance purse made by the Webster Company of North Attleboro, Massachusetts. The interior of the case has a hinged mirror area with a compartment underneath for powder or other cosmetics and two change holders.
This charming sterling silver compact and purse has multiple purposes. One side of the interior has a money clip for holding bills. The other side has a powder compartment and change holder. The door on the powder compartment is, also, able to accommodate a photo. A mesh chain wrist handle adorns the piece. All hinges,chain and closures are working but no mirror.
One side of the purse says 1920 and the other side has a monogram appears to be SH. Purse is 3 1/2\" x 2 1/2\" without chain and weighs 91.0 grams Chain is approx 12\" long. Excellent estate condition and a true collector\'s piece.
