Vintage Pyrometer, (bridge for measuring temperature with thermocouple) Apparently made by West Instruments of Schiller Park, Illinois. At least the accompanying reference tables are from them and seem to be original to the instrument. I can\'t find any brand on the Pyrometer itself. 1966 calibration date and tables are from 1964, so this must be of mid 1960s vintage. Complete with thermocouple. Without really knowing much about how to use this,
I followed the instructions, nulled the bridge and got reasonable temp readings for
the thermocouple at room temperature and when heating it up. So I assume this is all working OK. I didn\'t check the 300 to 1000 degree range. The meter movement and dials all work smoothly. It has room for a large 1.5 volt dry cell, they type that are about 6 inches tall with terminals , but I tested with a D cell and clip leads. The current draw is very small so any size battery works fine and any size cell would last many years in service. There are modern types of Pyrometers that are much more convenient and I imagine more accurate, so this is mainly of historic interest, but could probably be used if you wanted to. It also makes an impressive display or museum piece. Study the photos for condition. It looks quite nice to my untrained eye. All my stuff is guaranteed.
