Jimmy Connors became the first (and only) male tennis player to win US OPEN on three different surfaces: Grass (1974), Clay (1976), and Hard Court (1978). He won the US OPEN five times in 74,76,78, 82, 83 and runner up twice. He won Wimbledon twice in 74 and 82, and was runner up four times.
