Vintage Wood Pinocchio Lamp-Very Large 47\" Tall-Made In Milan, Italy-Very Unique:

I have a very large vintage solid wood Pinocchio lamp that was made in Milan, Italy that is in excellent condition. It measure 47\" tall including the shade and Pinocchio is 33\" tall from the top of his hat to the bottom of the green base when sitting. His nose is 5 1/2\" long, arms are 14\" long and legs and feet are 22 1/2\" long. He measures 12\" shoulder to shoulder and the solid wood green base is 27\" by 10\" and 2 1/2\" thick. The heavy fabric shade is very well constructed, lined, has inner metal reinforcement supports and is is also in excellent condition. It is very large measuring 78\" in circumference at the widest part. He is marked M_gi (could not make out the other letter) Made In Italy Milan. There are 2 light sockets with chains and a 44\" tall metal pole that fits into the base for the lighting. His arms, neck and head are jointed and move. His colorful outfit is extremely accurate in its representation of Pinocchio in the original story of the marionette that comes to life. The traditional Italian colors are used since the story originated there. I have had him since 1979 when I acquired him at a wealthy ladies\' estate sale and he was featured in the Antique Roadshow newsletter and slide show. When we took him to the Antique Roadshow (he had to be wheeled in on a dolly), he was the absolute hit of the show. Hundreds of people took his picture and bombarded us with questions because of his uniqueness. The experts at the show had never seen another like him but thought he might be from the 1940\'s or 1950\'s and one appraiser had seen the manufacturer\'s label before. I really hate to part with him since I\'ve owned him for 34 years (kind of like one of the kids) but it\'s time to send him to a new home. The only flaw that I can see is a little green paint missing on the bottom base. He would have to be professionally packed for shipping and the shade would have to be in a separate box so I am listing as calculated by location. Also, he would have to be insured.
