For your consideration is a stunning, vintage, cabachon. A West German glass piece,reverse carved and paintedintaglio, of the Zodiac, VIRGO the VIRGIN, in a vintage gold colored brass setting. This cabachon is over 50 years old. The size is a 18mm by 13mmoval glass cabachon. It is in great condition, a very clear VIRGO glass piece.It is in wonderful vintage condition.

It has been set in an old brass setting. It comes complete with a hanging hook, ready to put on your favorite chain and wear! RARE PIECE!

It is so stricking and displays excellent workmanship, the kind not seen anymore. Eachglass piecehas been individually and tediously reverse carved and hand painted. This is a gorgeous pendant and is quite a conversation piece when worn. It is a perfect piece, something vintage and unusual, and something you don\'t see much of anymore.

These cabachons were sometimes called intaglios, rosettes, reverse crystals or \"Cabs\". They date back to the 1940\'s and 1950\'s (maybe even the 30\'s!) and are extremely rare and highly collectible. These \"cabs\" or cabachons contain intaglio images or scenes. Each piece was hand painted into a reverse carved image. These amazing pieces of art were first manufactured during the Victorian era. Because they are so tiny and intricate it is difficult to manufacture them today. Current high manufacturing costs make producing these crystals cost prohibitive. As a result, these crystals have become sought after rarities and collectors items.

Anything available now has survived over the years and is not a new item.

This packaging is necessary to make sure these glass piecesarrive in one piece and undamaged. My wrapping has evolved over the years, asthe Post Office pays no attention to a package marked fragile! This does notinclude any money for my time, or the price of gas to and from the Post Office.
