AUTHENTIC HAWAII \"DUKE KAHANAMOKU\" BRAND HAWAIIAN MEN\'S VINTAGE SHIRTS ARE SOUGHT AFTER COLLECTIBLES. Duke Kahanamoku is considered to be one of Hawaii\'s all time legend. Duke Paoa Kahinu Mokoe Hulikohola Kahanamoku (August 24, 1890 – January 22, 1968) was a Hawaiian-American competition swimmer who was also known as an actor, lawman, early beach volleyball player and businessman credited with spreading the sport of surfing. Kahanamoku was also a five-time Olympic medalist in swimming.Here you have a colorful and wonderfully preserved vintage Hawaiian print men\'s shirt. The blues, green and orange makes this shirt a really stunning one to look at. Look at the unique buttons! These are buttons made out of coconut shells. Coconut buttons in the amount of 5 is a clear indication of a true vintage Hawaiian shirt. In the earlier years, Hawaii was the only one using coconut buttons on their Aloha shirts. So, know that older shirts tended to only have three to five buttons down the front—six or more is quite common today. The primary design on this shirt seems to be coconut branches and ti leaves. All plants indigenous to the Hawaiian Islands. From the stunning design pattern to the unique buttons, this shirt is truly a great addition to any collection.
