Original Hilger Watts Vernier Theodolite.

You now have the opportunity to own this beautifulvery rare, perfect example of English precision craftsmanship from the early 1900?s.This is a genuine, quality original Watts Vernier Theodolite manufactured in London and has the Serial Nr: 65054. This Instrument has beenprofessionally restored and lacquered. To restore an instrument like this backto its brass takes a huge amount of work hours because of all the intricateparts. This theodolite is in full working order. The telescope optics are good,and clean, with a nice clear image. The spiders web cross hairs are also clean and the instrumenthas been Collimated (Calibrated).This theodolite comes with its wooden box and some tools. What is particularly nice about these old brass instruments, isall the different shades of brass that are used in its manufacture. Theyweren\'t that good at getting the alloy mixtures correct like today. This is theinstrument you usually find in old films used by Land Surveyors or on displayin the Architect?s office sitting on a tripod or on the mantelpiece. Theinstrument is solid brass and aluminium with silvered circles and weighs around 12Kilosunpacked so please bear this in mind when you would like it shipped out of theUK.
