This unique shaped box depicts a famous scene from Russian fairy tale story Frog Princess.This box is a classic example of traditional Mstera style.

The black background and gold paint adds intricate details that bring out the true beauty of the Russian lacquer miniature.

The box is hand made out of papier-mâché, golden filigree ornament framed the composition, painting protected with layers of clear lacquer.Signed by the artist.

Excellent condition from non-smoking home. Any white spots and lines on the pictures below is just a reflection of the lacquer finish, while pictures were taken.
