This historic document has a Brown ornate border around it with a vignette of a train traveling along side of a river. This First Mortgage 30 year Gold Bond was issued for $1,000 and paid a rate of interest of 5%. This item is hand signed by the company’s president, A.W. McLean and its secretary, H.B. Jennings and is over102 years old.The Company was controlled by the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company. The Company was incorporated under North Carolina laws on January 11, 1907. They had 65.81 miles of track. Their route included stops in St. Paul, Elizabethtown, Lumbertin, and Hope Mills. They had 4 locomotives, 7 freight and passenger cars and 3 gasoline motor cars.
