Alovely vintagecameobrooch featuring a miniature profile portrait of abeautiful young woman wearing a fancy white head covering with gold haloabove, perhaps the artist\'s depiction of a saint or Madonna. A landscape scene is in the background. Along your righthand side at the edge of the frame appears to be the artist\'s signaturebut it is indistinguishable. The painting is fine andclear in detail and vibrant in color. The oval silver frame consists ofa plain silver bezel around which there is a gold plated dainty rope twistdesign and four rope twist sections thathold the outer plain silver border in place. Back is marked 800 signifying silvercontent. The broochhasa safety clasp as well as a loop so can be worn as a pin, pendant orfob. Measurements are approx 1-1/16th\" wide x 1-1/4\". I don\'t know the exact age of this piece, guessing around the 1930s to 50s. Probably European in origin.Thecondition of the painting is excellent and I can see no issues with it.There is some minor bending to the gold plated rope twist wire but no cracks or breaks.
