DESCRIPTION: Beautiful Italian Art Pottery of the Madonna Swaddled Jesus Child Ceramic Wreath Wall Hanger. Lots of 3D embossed details. The image is inspired by the Italian painter Ambrogio Lorenzetti\'s Madonna and Child painting from 1319 with Baby Jesus in swaddling bands. The swaddling was a sign to the shepards on the hillside that Jesus was the messiah. The Baby Jesus has his hands open with palms facing forward in a position of prayer or ascension. The wreath is bountiful with fruit. Has a wire on the back for hanging on the wall. Great subject, color and textural interest. See the photos.

MARKINGS: The back is marked with \"232 / MADE IN ITALAY\" and a symbol. See the photos.

AGE: Circa Mid 1900s.

ORIGIN: Italy

DIMENSIONS: Approx. 6” Diameter X 0.6\" in Relief.

CONDITION: Good vintage condition. Few signs of age or wear outside of some light scratches. I did not see any damage other than one chip to the glaze at 6 O\'Clock under the fruit and a hairline crack at about 2:30 as you can see in the last photo. See the photos.
