Circa 1920s Navajo Crystal handwoven rug measuring about 43\" x 64\". One of three old Navajo weavings recently acquired from a southern Arizona ranch estate. Tightly hand woven of handspun, hand-dyed and hand-carded wool. Features variegated grayish tan field with row of serrated diamonds in vegetable-dyed yellow, natural white, blended tan and blended black through the center. Long comb patterns at each side in blended aniline red and white colors. Weaving shows wear from use and age. Flaws include frayed and worn edges with areas of hand-sewn reinforcements, breaks and loss to selvedge cords, a few small holes and surface moth nips. Minor red color migration onto the surrounding white wool. There is a faded area on red comb pattern and a few scattered small marks/stains. Both sides are pictured.
