VINTAGE ANTIQUE 4-PIECE COVERED COPPER CANDY DISH

Art Deco Style from the early-1900s

Made by Chase

This is a vintage antique copper covered candy dish. There are 4 pieces to the set. I believe, after researching, that the bottom piece with handle was added to the Chase Covered Candy Dish. The bottom copper inset piece is marked with the Chase logo (a centaur drawing a bow), the word Chase underneath the logo, and USA - see pictures. I cannot find a mark on the outer piece with the handle. The 4-pieces include:Copper Lid with Fruit Top
Measures 5 3/8 inches in diameterGlass Insert
3 Divisions; Sunburst pattern on bottom
Measures 5 3/16 inches in diameterCopper Insert Bowl with Rim
Measures 7 1/8 inches in diameter; has a slight bend on one sideCopper Bottom with Handle and Feet
Measures 11 inches in length
3 Feet which I think are brass - see picturesThe total length of the copper bottom with handle and copper insert bowl is 11 1/2 inches. It measures approximately 6 inches in height. The glass insert is in excellent condition without any chips or stains - see pictures. The 3 pieces of copper show age appropriate wear and discoloration - see pictures. I have not attempted to clean the copper pieces and am not sure whether the discoloration can be removed from cleaning. From the internet: Chase entered the consumer market with a line of chrome Art Deco household items in the 1930s, created by leading designers of the day such as Russel Wright, Rockwell Kent and Walter VonNessen. They were usually signed with the distinctive company logo of a centaur drawing a bow. Chase discontinued this line in the early \'40s, when it turned its attention to wartime production. Chase production of their \'Specialty\' items lasted only 12 years, but during that time they issued over 500 items, and 500 more lamps and lighting fixtures.
