This is a rare string of florescent lights, that are white when unplugged, and colored when plugged in. They were made by Miller Electric, and date to the 1950\'s. The bulbs and cord are in excellent condition - no damage to the cord, which is flexible and clean. The bulbs all light and are beautiful - wonderful soft colors. The bulbs are C7, a standard candelabra base (as opposed to C6, which is small, and C9 which is large). The string is rated for both indoor and outdoor use. The bulbs are fairly large, measuring about 2\" across.
The string of lights comes with the box LID - the rest of the box pretty much disintegrated over time. The lid has several tears, but displays well. For display purposes, I believe I might laminate it, to protect it. The box was cardboard, and cardboard has a lot of acid in it, which is what causes paper to deteriorate over time.
Miller Electric was in business for about 65 years, in the early part of the last century. They made a number of wonderful Christmas collectibles. They also purchased the Royal stock when that company went out of business, and sold that as well.
