It has the lettering 1859 COLORADO 1959 / RUSH TO THE ROCKIES.. and has a high relief depiction of a covered wagon, oxen, a man on horseback, and some mining equipment, since the original Rush to the Rockies was a gold rush in 1859.

Is attached to a very nice brown and gold woven cord with brass colored ends.

Measures 16\" long and the medal is 1 5/16\" diameter
