Vintage 1970s Vernon Seeley Reproduction of BABY GLORIA -- an Armand Marseille Bisque Porcelain doll. Beautifully painted with a bisque head with molded hair -- open mouth with teeth, inset (and gorgeous) BLUE glass eyes, bisque porcelain hands (to the wrist) and soft stuffed body, arms and legs. Overall length is about 15 inches. Comes complete with (hand made) Christening Gown and matching lace trimmed baby bonnet. The Gown is trimmed overall with lace and has button covered snap closures up the back. Underneath is a soft flannel \"under\" dress with button closures at the shoulder.
Marked on the back of the head \"Baby Gloria\" \"Germany\" and \"Vernon Seeley.\" The Baby Doll is absolutely gorgeous ... the clothing could use a careful laundering and has overall mild general soiling and darkening due to dust and age. There is one small darkish mark (see photo close-up) on the front of the gown that may or may not launder out. The doll body has had arms and legs hand stitched to the body and some of the stitches are loose -- easy to add a small stitch here and there to tighten up.
