**THE BEAVER FALLS CUTLERY CO WAS LOCATED IN BEAVER FALLS, PENNSYLVANIA. THE BEAVER FALLS COMPANY AND TOWN WAS FOUNDED IN 1866 BY THE HARMONY SOCIETY, A RELIGIOUS GROUP. THERE WERE 300 EMPLOYEES THAT WORKED AT BEAVER FALLS CUT CO. AFTER WAGES WERE CUT IN 1872, THE WORKERS WENT ON STRIKE. THIS WAS THE FIRST STRIKE IN THE AMERICAN CUTLERY INDUSTRY\'S HISTORY. 200 CHINESE STRIKE BREAKERS FROM NEW ORLEANS KEPT THE COMPANY RUNNING UNTIL THE STRIKE WAS OVER. BEAVER FALLS CUTLERY COMPANY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS IN 1886. CATTARAUGUS BOUGHT THE REMAINING EQUIPMENT IN 1891.** Please see photos for details.
