Vtg DICKOTA POTTERY Sugar & Creamer 1934-37 RARE Dickinson, North Dakota VGCond.:
$55.00

DICKOTA POTTERY is very hard to find since the company was only in production from 1934-1937.

North Dakota is known for excellent clay andpottery manufacturing.

DICKOTA Pottery owes its origins to the North Dakota WPA (Works Progress Administrations Ceramic Project).

The Dickinson Clay Products Company was unable to produce bricks during the cold winter so the workers were trained to produce pottery indoors.

The name DICKOTA was created combining the first part of the name of the town DICK for Dickinson and OTA for the last part of North Dakota.

My research reveals \"the black glaze is specifically described as coveted\' in the DICKOTA GLAZE BOOK at the University of North Dakota archives.

Offered here is a black gloss glazed creamer and sugar, marked on the bottom DICKOTA.

The word DICKOTA is always scratched on the bottom of most pieces using a stylus.

The creamer measures 4\" spout to handle and stands 2 1/2\" high.

The sugar bowl measures 4 1/2\" handle to handle and stands 2 1/2\" high.

Both of these pieces are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or glaze pops.

These will be packed with great care and shipped the next business day following payment.

Remember you never pay a sales tax when purchasing from a Montana seller.
