Original part, ingood condition and clean

The partwas pulled from a E.C. Simmons Keen Kutter K5 1/2 wood plane, not sure of era.

Thisis a front rosewood knob for a E. C. Simmons 5 1/2 wood plane. The knob is theshort profile and uses the barrel type brass bolt cap.

For dating, I believefrom prior 1920’s series, as this plane had the small profile front knob, no receiverring on base, and a small blade depth adjustor, which all were changed in themid 1920’s to different designs……SO CHECK FOR YOUASSURANCE OF FIT.

The knob is 2 1/16” tall, and 1 7/8” in dim at top and 1 1/4”dim at bottom.

The knobis in good condition,….the original finished was cracking andfaking off, so was stripped and refinished……As with the vintage of the part,there is some normal use wear, a few dings, a few light scratches, and some discoloration,all as noted from the photos.
