VINTAGE LADY HEAD VASE

This lovely lady is marked 1956 on the underside, but otherwise has no markings or labels.

The vase depicts a woman with a ruffled collar and a pink rimmed hat with a white bow and ribbons. She has brown, wavy hair, swept up with curls on her forehead.

The base glaze is white with a high gloss finish with paint applied on top for the make up. The bow and ribbons have an iridescent finish. The collar and hatare trimmed in bright metallic gold.

She measures about 7 1/4 inches tall by about 3 inches wide at the base and 5 1/4 inches thick at the top.

She is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There are some irregularities to the decoration as is commonly seen on this type of hand decorated ceramic. There is overall crazing of the clear glaze and some staining in the crazing on the back of the neck (photo 7). She is missing the paint for her lipstick (photo 8) and has a smudge under the glaze along side her nose (photo 9). There are some stray spots of color on the inside (photo 10) and some wear to the gold rim on the back of the hat (photo 11).
