Vintage, circa 1960s, beautiful extra large BLENKO optic pitcherin the Olive Green color. This pitcher has no label and is not marked, but I purchased it as part of a vintage Blenko collection - all from the 60\'s and 70\'s. The collection included 2 large pieces that were originally purchased either at the same time or around the same time. First was a 19\" floor decanter, a Joel Myers design(just SOLD it on ), that decanterdid have its original silverBlenko Handcrafted sticker: and second is this large pitcher from the same mid-century period as the decanter, and also perhaps a Myers design, but I can\'t be certain.
This pitcher is in wonderful condition. damage-free condition.The glass is clear (not in color, obviously) but free of any cloudiness/no\"sick\" glass,no residual liquid lines or interior spotting.There are no cracks or chips, and only the occasional internal bubbles unique to blown glass, and the normal movement scratches on the underside of its bottom - to be expected on a 50+ yr. old heavier piece. The thick green applied handle is secure and has no damage. The pitcher sits flat, with no wobble; and the pontil, on the concaved underside of the bottom, remains roughrough.Approximate measurements:Height: 16\"Body Width (diameter): 8 1/4\"Neck Width (diameter): 3 1/2\"Top Diameter (excluding spout): 5 1/2\"Top Diameter (including spout): 6\"
This impressive pitcher could be repurposed for any use - vase, coin holder or simply an addition to your Blenko collection. Its size alone makes a statement and would be a wonderful addition to any Blenko collection.
