Wow. What a special find. This 1940-50s Corrine Originals Satin Wedding Dress and Jacket is New Old Stock, never worn, and in impeccable, beautiful, mint condition.
The satin is absolutely sublime. Almost like a liquid satin, it is so glossy, soft and rich and reflects the light just beautifully. Gorgeous champagne color.
The cropped bolero jacket is very detailed and stylized. The 3/4 sleeves end in 6\" wide ( at the widest pt) rounded cuffs, which are embellished with a winding floral vine pattern made of satin cord and silver seed pearls. One sewn fold delineates the edge of the cuff. The Peter Pan collar is similar to the cuffs with its rounded shape, cord and seed pearl embellishment and folded sewn pleat that follows the outline of the collar.And then there are the 28 satin buttons and loops that form a line to close the front of the jacket. Vertical dart from the hem of the jacket add fullness for the bust. The shoulders are lightly padded. The back has two vertical pleats and the hem at the back forms a point right in the middle of the jacket.
The Sleeveless Dress has two satin 1/4 inch spaghetti straps and a side metal zipper with hook and eye closures for the ruched fabric to cover the zipper.The bodice is gathered horizontally at the bust with ruched sides and the smooth satin under the bust rises to a peak at the center point.The waist has a simple satin cord below which the skirt is gathered.
Measurements: Shown on a mannequin that measures 33-24-34.. approx size 4. which is a good fit.
