Vintage gold tone military rank pin. Perfect for your favorite trucker’s hat. Marked Gemsco N.Y. on the back. Very clean. In very great condition!

“This very special gold pin represents a First Class Petty Officer. The gold means good conduct with a least 3 Good Conduct Ribbons, over 12 years of service. When an officer was active duty they could wear a blue Navy ball cap when they wore dungarees and the pin was worn on the front center of the ball cap.” The silver version is not as valuable, usually under 12 years of service. Normally 3rd and 2nd Class Petty Officer are silver. Gold color is very rare and special!!
