SWEET NEVER USED - NOS 1955 Mid Century house design! I have to say it is used only because it is so old. Still in original factory folds with the instructions in the original envelope! Description WOW! This is such a cool and rare find for the Betsy McCall doll collectors!This is the real deal...... the rare 1st Edition 1955 McCall\'s DO-IT-YOURSELF Full-Scale and Transfer Pattern for building your own Betsy McCall Doll House! The plan is a sweet Mid-Century design Split-Level home, McCall\'s No. 150W, copyright date 1955. This pattern was the one you received if you ordered it from the 1955 magazine ad. Later reprints in subsequent years had a colored photo on the envelope front.....no other differences, just later editions. This one, being the first and earliest, is the black and white version. It says on the front:
\"A SPLIT-LEVEL Dollhouse like this will make any little girl starry-eyed on Christmas morning. The pattern includes decorating and finishing ideas and complete directions for making house from plywood. 51\" long, 11 1/2\" deep, 18 1/2\" high\".
Condition/Issues: This pattern remains in the original factory folds. The envelope is starting to get a little brittle and does have some old tape repairs to keep one end closed (just like so many old sewing patterns!). I removed the pattern to check it out and it\'s in excellent condition except there is a rectangular area of toning from where the paper instructions sat on the tissue in the package for so long (no harm done). This pattern is made of a much thicker tissue than the old sewing patterns and it has transfers so the plans could actually be \"ironed onto the plywood\" for the cutting lines. I can\'t guarantee they would still iron on as well. If you really plan on having this built, or building one, the pattern should be traced or reproduced on other paper first. Save the tissue copy for your collection.
This sale is for the pattern only - not the finished product. I couldn\'t resist sharing some pics I found on the net of a few doll houses that have been bui!t and decorated, though.
