This is a heavy, staghorn handled, hunting knife that was made in Germany, probably in the 50s or 60s.The blade is 5 inches and the overall length is 9 inches.From the manufacturer: \"...stainless super keen cutting steel blade. Staghorn scaled slabs underlaid with brass and fiber make a fine handle. Nickel silver guard and bolsters.\" There is a silver \"badge\" on the handle.One side of the knife reads \"Handarbeit\" and \"Bestell-Nr. 3589.\" The other side reads \"Gutman Cutlery Co\" and \"Puma-Werk Solingen\" and \"Made in Germany.\"The words \"Oberforstmeister Frevert\" are embossed into the sheath, with the word \"Sheide\" and another I can\'t read underneath.Good vintage condition with some blemishes on the knife as well as some stains on the leather. Traces of grime that have accumulated over the years. Although the knife edge appears undamaged, it will need to be sharpened. Thin straps on sheath are a little beat up.
