Benedetto Panetta came to the US from italy in 1901 and opened in NY in 1945 after having his own shop in Naples. Panette had the tradition of quality and the real look of fine costume jewelry. Panetta\'s jewelry of platinum and gold equaled and frequently exceeded other jewelry makers. Therefore, it is not surprising that many of the affluent chose to wear Panetta designs of costume jewelry rather than the genuine article. He went out of business in 1995. These earrings are clip back and work perfectly, and are probably 1960\'s or 70\'s.

This pair is 2\" long, rhodium finish with a nice size faux pearl dangle at the bottom. All the rhinestones in the rhodiaum finish metal are bright and clear and none have darkened. The shiny pearl drops do have flaws when under magnification. Since they are glued in to the lower dangle part, they could be replaced if so desired. I prefer them just as they are, no one is going to me taking a magnifying glass to my ears!
