Offered is a large paper flour sack for “Our Special” Plain Flour distributed by the Houchens Stores of Bowling Green Kentucky. This sack is unused, and was meant to hold 25 pounds of flour. The front graphic has an illustration of a woman with her pie, and a photo of a mess of biscuits. The back of the bag has recipes for Hot Biscuits, Double Fruit Cobbler and Pineapple Upside Down Cake. I do not know the date of this bag, but there is a printed zip code, so it dates after 1962.
The bag is made of heavy stock, and conforms to the specifications for freight shipping. The bag stands 19 ½ inches tall and is a little over 13 inches wide.
The bag is in good condition, with no rips or tears. The paper is toned and there are tack holes near the top. There is a stain on the back. Please refer to photos to judge condition for yourself.
