Up for sale is a lovely, hand made SORRENTO Italian inlaid wooden music / jewelry box. The lid is decorated with inlaid flowers. It has brass feet and a lock with a tasseled key. It still has is original \"Sorrento\" pamphlet inside. The inside is clear red velvet with spot for rings or earrings. The acrylic cover to the Reuge Swiss music works is removable. My guess is this box was overwound by someone during the sale process. The mechanism works and plays if you carefully manually turn the wind key backwards. It needs a repair to get it to start playing on its own. My guess is someone experienced with music boxes could fix this quite easily. It plays \"Fur Elise\". The box is a 7\" square and approx. 2.75\" tall. There\'s some light surface wear to the lacquer finish as in the photos. The key and lock work great. I purchased this at an estate sale and am uncertain of its age.
