ThisvintageSGCoMASON\'SPATENT 1858 blue-glass quart fruit/canning jar and a porcelain-lined zinc cap are in good condition. One side of the jar is embossed withMASON\'SSGCo (logo)PATENT NOV. 30TH1858. The base is embossed with the mold number 217. Including the zinc cap, the jar isapproximately7 1/4\" tall. As expected with vintage canning jars, there are manufacturing flaws including rough glass, debris, and big closed bubbles in the glass. The jar shows wear consistent with its age and purposeincluding ground lip wear and surface scratches. Please look at the photos carefully. They are an important part of the description.
