These are WWII Era US Army Paratrooper Pants found in a rag mill in rural Michigan. I\'ve researched these paratrooper pants to the best of my ability and have compared them to similar WWII paratrooper pants used for D-DAY and believe they look authentic to the same style, including the reinforced duck canvas added to the knee pads, cargo pocket design/trim, and of course the general look of age to them. The pants are not ID\'ed nor show the airborne division, just the sizing. I\'ve photographed as many of the details on the pants and described the condition the best I could.I am not a professional authenticator in these types of parapants so please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
Markings
The pants are stamped \"WAIST 28 INSEAM 30\" on the interior of the waist line. No other further markings.
Condition
These condition of these pants is rather remarkable. There are no rips or holes to be found on the pants.There is some red spotting staining found throughout the pants. The largest red mark is about an inch in length found on the right cargo pocket ( see picture). The rest of the marks are about 1/4\" and not too noticeable.There are some discoloration streaks to the front and back parts of the hip area and this can be visible upon closer examination.There are also some dirt marks found on the back of the pants near the calf area ( see picture). The inside opening of these pants is rather clean as the scan shows. Very little discoloration to whites of the lining. There is a five button flap opening and one of the buttons is missing - the fourth button down. All other suspender buttons appear to be intact. The knee pads are made of a different material than the rest of the pants fabric, most likely a duck canvas. All snap buttons are intact to the pouch. The straps that cinch around the calf of the pant leg have been torn off ( see picture). Please note that the photographs taken outside are truest to the actual color. Overall the pants look to be lightly used and in nice condition for age.
