Vintage 1930s Biscuit Tin Box with Embossed Butterflies – Lovely

Butterfly lovers will rejoice at this biscuit tin decorated with embossed butterflies. There’s not a lot of wear, and the colors are still vibrant. The background has a pale wood look, with borders looking like a darker wood. The tin dates to 1939 and once contained biscuits from W. & R. Jacob & Co.

The vintage wear and patina includes some small areas of wear generalized over the tin, some small scratches and scuffs, some handling marks and normal vintage soiling, some minor dents and dings, etc. A few small but more noticeable areas of wear, including near edges of lid, and some scratches on the back side near one end. Some spotted patina in the interior base, with some early rust just starting around the crevice. Light-ish vintage wear on the bottom, which is still bright gold. Hinge is well attached and moves freely, however open/close requires some coaxing.

Again, condition issues of note:

· Some small but noticeable areas of wear, including near edges of lid, and some scratches on the back side.

· Some dark spotted patina inside and some early rust starting around interior crevice.

· Open/close requires some coaxing.

Approximate size of tin is about 9.25” by 3.5” by about 3 3/8” tall.

The tin is empty.
