Description: This sale is for an absolutely stunning antiqueEdwardian true petit point purse. The purse has beautiful rose and otherflorals painstakingly sewn on an off-white background. The design is identicalon either side of the purse. The design may appear a tad faded, but I believethat it is not fading, but the result of the lighter array of thread colors theseamstress used. The purse is edged in black silk thread. The real highlight ofthis lovely antique purse, I believe, is the elegant frame. The goldtone framehas repousse designs on both sides. But one side has six (6) soldered single-stemroses along the top. The clasp is a combination of two hollow filigree ballswith a smaller solid ball as the catch. In one word used quite often in theEdwardian era: Fetching! The chain carrying handle is made of goldtone links,and is attached to the frame on one side to loops which are part of the frame –not attached or soldered to it. The interior is lined in pinkish-coral silk andappears never to have been used, as I can find no stains or wear. There is asmall interior side pocket, with a white tag next to it reading: Made inFrance. The lining has been hand-sewn to the frame. This is an excellentexample of a purse that defined an Era. What a great addition to your pursecollection!

ConditionReport: 6-1/2 inches height; 7inches wide; 7/8 inch deep. Chain adds another 4-1/2 inches to height.

Shipping costsare reflective of the actual weight of the item up for offer, and includesthe approximate weight of the box/envelope and any packing materials needed toassure safe delivery to you.
