Being offered on this sale is Art Nouveau figurine made by Wiener Kunst Keramik, Austria. It features Dachshund Puppy. Dog is shown sitting. It is in brown tones with details in white and black. Gentle texture of ceramics beautifully resembles its fur. Looks splendid. This is model number Keramos 5080. Sculptor Angelo Bortolotti from Rome designed this beagle for Keramos in 1960. He is well known for his religious sculptures and ornaments in churches. This dog is one of his animal masterpieces. It is considered as one of the best dachshund models ever. It is made in stoneware with polychrome decoration. The backside carries ‘Wien Keramos’ logo in black with ‘Made in Austria’. According to my books this is production of c. 1960s. It is known about ‘Wien Keramos’ that they often marked their figurines with original artist signs. Unfortunately, we do not see it on this piece.
