WONDERFUL 19C WALNUT ANTIQUEINLAID JEWELLERY BOX - FAB INTERIOR

Youare offerding on a WONDERFUL LARGE 19c figured walnut inland antique restored andrepolished jewellery box. Dates approximately 1860/1890.

FULLY LOCKS

InWONDERFUL restored condition.

Nomissing or replaced veneer.

Coupleof minor nibble repairs on the inlay otherwise superb.

Inlaidfruitwood, and ebony banding to the top and front. Further inlaid with motherof pearl, ebony and tulipwood to the central cartouche and keyhole escutcheon.

Theinterior silk fixed deep buttoned backing board is original to the box and in reasonablygood order with minor fray and discolouration. To be expected for a box ofgreat age.

Boxes such as these are becoming harder to find in this condition.

Boxretains the original lock, which only locks on one pin. Original top catch andhinges. Slight crack in one pin to top catch. Supplied with a silk tassel andVictorian key that FULLY LOCKS thebox. Instruction given once sold.

Comprising a wonderful interior that boasts a laterwooden tray finished to a superb standard that compliments. This has beenrelined in expensive velvet material of the highestquality, the same as the interior of thebox.

All the added dividers withinthe tray can easily be repositioned or removed if desired. The tray can holdmany rings in an upright position.

Underneath the additionaltray and beneath the base of the box have also been lined in velvet to stop anyscratches to other surfaces.

A superb box, andwould make a fantastic gift.
