Model 8J. Built in 1929, types just great ( check out the photo ). THIS IS AN \"ELITE\" MODEL which types 12 characters to an inch with a 14\" carrage. It has all of its ORIGINAL PATINA and has not been touched up, inhanced, or otherwise tampered with. 89 years old and if taken care of should last at least another 89! The decals are still nice. It has its scarce ORIGINAL RIBBON SPOOLS with a NEW RIBBON. It also has remenets of a WOODSTOCK FACTORY REBUILT STICKER ON THE BOTTOM LEFT ON ONE SIDE which indicates that it had a new platen roller and finger rollers at some point. Although I am not a typest every thing seems to work well. You will be proud to desplay this typewriter as an Art-Deco-Nouveau Decor desplay piece for your office, home or to be used just as a typewriter. Just like the cars, motorcycles, and furnature from the Art-Deco period of the 1920\'s and 30\'s these beautiful objects are just getting rarer, and more valuable as time goes by. Unlike all the JUNK FROM CHINA manufactured today this typewriter was Built in the USA when machines like this were works of art and engineried to last a lifetime. This machine is ready to desplay and is a great working typewriter that you can use every day. This is a heavy machine thus the $48 shipping, and it may cost me more to ship it.
