We areoffering a Model 1905E1 16\" blade cut down to 10\". The overall length is about9 5/8 inches long with a 5 inch blade. Please note that the barrel ring has been removed during the modification.
In1944-1946 many of the WWI and WWII 1905 bayonets were reworked by cutting themdown to a 10\" length. Depending upon who did the modification, the endswere reground to either a spear or clip point. Any wooden grips were exchangedfor black or reddish plastic types. This bayonet fits into an M7 scabbard,included in this sale.
This isa vintage made in 1919 by the Rhode Island Armory. The blade is stamped R.I.A.with a Flaming Bomb and 1911. The other isside stamped US with serial number 209366 above the letters UFH. On the guard are the letters WT. At some point bayonet was nickeled for paradeor honor guard for the military. The M7 flaming bomb scabbard has some veryminor dents and scratches with tarnish on the metal. There is a gouge in thechannel that locks onto the M1. This is not noticeable when attached to therifle.
