A WW1 Medal pair named to: 2/LIEUT. J.P. FERREIRA. R.A.F.British War Medal & bilingual (English/Dutch) Victory Medal.Read more about 2nd Lieut. Julian Percy Ferreira.Included in this lot are the two medals awarded to Ferreira (full entitlement). The medals are in their original boxes & with the original small envelopes. Also included is the letter from Air Ministry (18 May 1923) which accompanied the medals.Lieutenant Ferreira was shot down over France flying a DH-4 (De Havilland). He was only eighteen ! Originally from Humansdorp in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. His father was a veteran of the 1879 Frontier Wars and his older brother served in German South West Africa & East Africa.
