This hat came out of the woodwork in Milwaukee Wi.The hat measures 12 inches across and has two small moth holes and some light moth tracking on the top.The hat appears to be custom made but thats just a guess.The hat band area has a very fancy pattern all around the head area.The USS Kearsarge hat tally was cut to about 8-9 inches then sewn to the fancy band.This hat has not been touched since it was made.The lining is silk and has some slight deterioration to the silk interior but not a lot.I think this flat hat may be Pre WW1 but I am not an expert on these so if anyone knows let me know.On a scale one to ten its a seven five.offer with confidence this is a great example of a very old nany hat.PS the siffener inside the hatappears to be wicker over spring steel.
