You are offerding on aVERY NICE used example of WW2 German Winter Fliegerhose Kannalzug (Winter Channel Pilot Trousers), as used by manyGerman fighterpilots!

Development of protective flight uniforms began during WW1, and continued into WW2. What developed were a 1-piece flight suit (2 for winter 1 for summer), which in 1936 developed into an electrically heated flight suit. Thissuit consisted of a one-piece jacket/pant combination with separate gloves and socks. The flight suits contained built-in insulated heating elements which connected directly to the aircraft\'s power supply. The early version was intended for cold weather flight, and was worn over the standard uniform. In July 1940, new regulations determined a 2-piece flight suit was to be manufactured. The 2-piece suit consisted of a separate jacket and pants, and was commonly referred to as the “channel pant”.

Manufactured ingrey cotton, with a fur/fleece lining, thisRARE pair of pants is in AMAZING condition for it\'s age! Though they do show some very slight wear and marks,they are in EXCELLENT condition, with vibrant colors throughout!

The snaps are ofPRYMmanufacture, and the zippers are made by ZIPP. All function correctly with no corrosion or rust! There is a small field repair on one of the zippers, but it does not detract.

The interiorlining is made of fur/fleece and is 100% intact with no tears or damage. Unfortunately, I cannot find a manufacture label, however there is a size label, indicating \"IIb\", so it would fit anyone with a medium/large build. When I originally gabbed these, I thought they were the standard early type, with no exterior pockets...however...after a closer inspection, this is the later Channel Type set, but someone decided to remove all the exterior pockets...not really sure why. Other than that, these are near mint. If you have a pair that has tears or issues, you can easily transfer the exteriorpockets to this set. Would make a FANTASTIC addition to any collection or display!
