Up for sale WW2 GI bring back Japanese Tanto knife first thing will tell you I don\'t know much about these type knives. Bought this of the grandson who said his grandfather brought t back from the war. Written on leather sheath is John McConell Sendal Japan 1946 - 47. Blade is 7 1/2 inches long in very nice condition very well made no rust pitting nicks dings very sharp nice clean in white bright polish metal. Handle is wrapped ray or shark skin no tears rips in very good condition. As you can see in photos dose show gold leaf or gold on parts of handle. Leather sheath also in great condition no rips tears not sure this was original for this knife or not what research have done on these knives they had wooden sheaths. Could not find any markings on tang maybe someone out there can tell me something about this knife.
