This is a fantastic winter camouFlage relic helmet from the Eastern Front of WW2. The shell is an M40 SE64; lot number is present but hard to make out. The helmet has a brushed on winter white wash camouFlage paint job that has survived surprisingly well. The paint underneath the white wash was also preserved amazingly well. There is a single projectile entrance hole of the right hand side of the helmet and a large exit hole to the top front of the helmet. The split pins and washers are not original to the helmet; when acquired the helmet was without them and they were added to helmet to give it a more complete look. This helmet is a grim reminder of the ferocity of combat on the Eastern Front.
