For sale is a WW2 US Navy N-1 deck jacket. This is an outstanding example of this iconic jacket. It appears to have been issued but never worn.

. All buttons are original and tight.

. The original brass Talon zipper is perfect and retains it’sleather puller.

. The underarm and drawstring grommets are in perfect condition and retain 99 % of their black paint.

. The drawstring is in perfect condition and the ends have never been unwound since it left the factory.

. The linen label is perfect and even the inspectors stamp is still visible.

. The internal knit cuffs are perfect and have no plucks or moth holes.

. The alpaca lining and collar are perfect with no holes, thinning or bald spots.

. The USN stencil is clear and crisp.

. The canvas whipcord shell is in perfect condition with no rot, holes or fraying anywhere but has some fading across the shoulders, arms and cuffs plus some small marks from storage which may dry clean out.

This really is an exceptional example and almost impossible to find in this condition. It’s labelled 36 but fits a 38 chest. Measurements are as follows –

Armpit to armpit = 20” or 51cm

Length down back from base of collar = 26” or 66 cm

Across shoulders = 18” or 46 cm

Arm length from shoulder seam = 26” or 66 cm
