This listing is for a cardboard window placard for a World War I, U.S. Navy enlisted man. The purpose of the placard was to inform the neighbors and passers-by that a man from the home was serving. The placard usually contained a picture of the man, his assigned number and other pertinent information about his enlistment. This placard reads, \"A Man From this House is Now Serving His Country at the Front in the United States Navy\". It is signed by L. J. Gottschalk, U.S.N., Commanding. This soldier\'s number was 185791.

This placard measures 8.25\" X 10.5\" and is in poor condition. The photograph has been removed and this was done by tearing it off the placard. The name and address information has also been torn from the document. The top and bottom left corners are also torn. The eagle and seal, as well as the writing and signature are all completely untouched and easily read.

This would be a fantastic addition to a collector of WWI or US Naval memorabilia.
