Wwii Era Unique Bayonet Solid & Rare 1905 M1 Carand?:
WWII Era Unique Bayonet. It is a puzzle as to exactly what it is, as I can not find any makers Mars on it anywhere. It has characteristics of several different designs and militaries. I believe the mount, for the gun is most likely for a US Army 1905 M1 Carand. The handle is almost definitely US Military. The blade has a design very similar to Japanese or Turkish Bayonets, but not sharpened the same, nor made of the same metal. It most resembles a Canadian Ross Bay Combat Knife Bayonet, but does not have the Fuller they typically do. I'm told that during war time the soldiers were known to "piece together" a working Bayonet using the parts and pieces available, so perhaps that is why it has the characteristics of several different types of Bayonet/knives? In overall excellent condition for it's age. Shows some minor signs of wear, which is to be expected. Please inspect pictures carefully. YOU are the expert! Entire bayonet is approximately 18" long, blade is roughly 12.5" long, not including Tang. A great rare and unique piece of WWII militaria, perfect for any collection of vintage Bayonets, Knives, and WWII Era military collectibles.
