Presently saleing a number of items that came from the estate of Major General Clements McMullen, USAF. General McMullen was an early known aviation pioneer and WWII general attached to the Far East Air Force in charge of air materiel logistics. Following World War II he became the first deputy and chief of staff of the newly formed Strategic Air Command. In this capacity, according to everything one can find on Google, he allegedly gave the orders to cover-up the 1947 Roswell UFO situation. He eventually became the commanding general at Kelly Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas and retired as the commander of SAAMA, San Antonio Air Materiel Area in 1954. His full biography may be found on the official US Air Force web site or just Google his name.

For sale is a personally engraved letter opener used by General Clements McMullen. The letter opening is is the form of his officer\'s US Army sword. Identical to his sword in every aspect except it is a small letter opener. The letter sword letter opener is engraved \"Lt.C.M. McMullen.\" His middle name was Manly. If this piece was made when he was a lieutenant, it was probably made in the 1920\'s. The sword is approximately 8 3/4 inches long, 10 1/4 inches with scabbard, 1/4 inch blade on the sword and the handle is 1 1/2 inches at its widest point. I can find no maker marked. Now is your change to own a piece of history from an early US aviation pioneer, a WWII general with many accomplishments, and a man who\'s \"claim-to-fame\" is the Roswell UFO story.
