The Olive Drab paint & texture are new with a very authentic appearance. Fixed bales are new & properly spot welded by Me. The Unique Camo Pattern & Rigger modified chinstrap were applied/sewn by Me in my shop. Heat stamp is: 109A (Very early War mfg\'d shell)HELMET LINER: WWII Era Westinghouse Liner. QUICK HISTORY LESSON: The517th PRCT was an independent Airborne unit that jumped into Southern France for Operation Dragoon. M2 D-bales & Jump liners were in Super short supply, even helmet nets. This unit specifically used Standard M-1 Fixed bales (Some M2 shells) all outfitted with \"Rigger Modified\" chinstraps and camo patterns sprayed over mesh nets. Like any Airborne helmet finding an original like this in its current condition would be damn near impossible.... And very Expensive!! My restoration is the very next best thing.
