Here\'s an Excelsior IV SHIP LOG device for sailboats, yachts and other watercraft to measure speed as I understand it. I just purchased this at an estate sale and know little about it. Made in Birmingham England, maybe in 1950\'s or early 60\'s. Appears complete ?and fully functional with rope, hook, weight, little can and the steel torpedo that goes into the water. Comes in fitted dovetailed wooden box. It is untested and I am unsure on how it works so sold as is
