Is marked Sterling and inscribed-Pacific Coast Laurel cut by John Saltar Sr. at Steilacoom Wash. June 7, 1894 for his son John Saltar Jr. 33rd Walnut Street Philadelphia, PA. This may have been the family having to do with Saltars Point Steilacoom, WA and some larger business (important family in the era). The metal part in top of cane may be gold or brass-don\'t know, Small circle of brass at bottom of cane. Total length of cane is 33 1/2 inches. The wood does have some splitting. Thanks for looking.
