Wallace Wood UNUSED original concept art #14 for 1974 Topps Wacky Packs. This card has never been printed anywhere!Hand drawn on bristol board with non-repro blue ink lettering, pen & brush work with black india ink and snopake white paint. The Art is 11\" wide x 10\" tall. It has some browning on the board as shown in the scan. The back of the artboard is blank. The watermark is mine, so no one can use this scan to publish the art illegally .A friend worked for Topps for almost 30 years and was given this piece of original art while he worked there. He just rediscovered it when he was packing to move and he asked me to sell it for him on . It looks to be like a Wacky Packs Card that Woody Gelman was creating for the 1974 Topps Wacky Packs, and he gave the assignment to Wallace Wood to produce the art. The margin note in blue reads \"Athlete\'s FOOT?\" with an arrow pointing to the text. I have consulted a few people on this and we agree that the art has the look and feel of the 1974 Topps Wacky Packs. We are also sure that this is drawn by Wally Wood (Woody).Notice the silhouette head. It looks quite like the back view of Alfred E. Newman\'s head (from MAD Magazine) in silhouette. This might have been a problem for Topps legally. Something else to note, the name \"ANYSIN\" could be read as ANY SIN. This might have been too suggestive back in the 70\'s. Topps certainly didn\'t want to piss off any mothers that might see this card in a pack that their child bought. Both issues combined might have been enough for Topps to create a different card #14 that was printed in the 1974 Topps Wacky Packs set and not use this art.I guess that we will never know why this card number 14 was never printed and a different card 14 issued in it\'s place. If anyone out there has any ideas or info on this, please message me. I would love to know more.NOTE: This could also be concept art for the Topps Wacky Ad series from 1969.
